Reini's Resources
Hello! I’m Reini Hachi. This started because I wanted to compile art tips to exchange with my friends, then it developed enough that I realized I could share it publicly.I am by no means a professional; I’ve never received a formal art education and am continuously learning myself. Please take my reviews as my personal opinions only. This is just a self-archive for fun, but I would be glad if anyone found it useful!
*Please do not message me asking to add anything. This is not meant to be a comprehensive database but a collection of my own resources, so I do not want to include ones I've never used myself. I'm willing to take recommendations and add something after I've tried it, though.

Books / Lessons
★ Anatomy for Artists: Drawing Form & Pose: The Ultimate Guide to Drawing Anatomy in Perspective and Pose with Tomfoxdraws (personal favorite!)This book focuses on understanding anatomical forms as three-dimensional shapes, starting with simple box figures, then building up to more complex ones. I liked this approach because of how easily digestible it was and how it aimed to establish a strong foundation that can be translated across different poses and angles, as opposed to just rote memorization.

★ DrawaboxA completely free online course focused on building an understanding of 3D construction through rigorous drills and challenges. I'm currently chipping away at it at the time of writing (September 2026) and recently completed the 250 box challenge.Beginner artists tend to view art as 2-dimensional lines on canvas and memorize the placements of anatomy as opposed to having an understanding of a shape existing in space. Art tutorials will tell you to simplify forms as cubes or spheres, but I thought I didn't have a good foundation for this to help me very much, so I took on this course. I personally found it useful to build fundamentals and develop an eye for seeing objects in 3D. The repeated drills approach may be daunting, but as a full-time student, it's definitely doable if you break it up and commit time for it daily.
